Systems Administrator

Department: Business Technology

You are a highly motivated and energetic individual with a minimum five years server administration experience in a Microsoft Windows or Linux environment.

You have demonstrated proficiency in a number of technologies, including Active Directory, systems management, DNS, and backup/recovery services. Experience with virtualization technologies is an asset and will be given preference. In addition to the above qualifications, you have experience in supporting high availability, mission critical infrastructure. In this role you will be responsible for providing operational technical support in both test and production environments. The candidate should be a dedicated problem solver who can multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include system implementation, adoption of tools and standard operating procedures, implementing and testing patches and system upgrades, developing documentation, securing the environment, & providing support and resolving technical problems.

Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have:

• Senior knowledge of both x86 architecture (Intel, AMD), Microsoft Windows server systems (2000, 2003) and VMWare ESX Server
• Skilled in server management including capacity planning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP Networks, network concepts such as network protocols, switches, routers.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking skills, communication and time management skills
• Driven and team focused.
• Able to adapt and acquire new skills quickly
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high paced work environment
• University degree/College Diploma in related field preferred
